Composer Patrick Grant brings Tilted Axes back to Theater for the New City with Necessary Music Only: mobile electric guitars, live percussion, choreography, lighting, and visual media as one piece of music-theater. Runtime about 75 minutes. This is not a rock concert with a setlist. Players move. The room is part of the writing. Grant has been building this language downtown for years; the Johnson Theater at 155 First Avenue is the right size for it. September 17–October 4, 2026, Thursday–Saturday 20:00, Sunday 15:00. $20 / $15 students and seniors. theaterforthenewcity.net/shows.
