How to Be is Book Club Bar’s monthly philosophical-fiction discussion, led by bookseller Keri Kelly. This month’s novel is The Hounding by Xenobe Purvis. The group meets Saturday mornings in the East Village store — brunch cocktail in hand, back garden when weather allows. Saturday September 12, 2026, 11:00–12:30 at 197 East 3rd Street. A ticket includes $8 off any drink. Read the book if you can; the point of the room is the argument, not a lecture. This is a standing monthly. Next month will be a different title.
